Today (10.01.2015) we at GNE gifted new dresses for 41 children of prison inmates for Pongal Festival in Palayamkottai Central Prison

The event presided over by Mr.R.Kanagaraj, DIG (In-Charge) Madurai Range and Superintendent of Prison of Palayamkottai Central who has delivered presidential address among the children and motivated them to reach highest position in education. If the children concentrate on their education then every pongal festival will be pleasurable occasion.

We had Mr.K.S.Narendiran Nair, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Tirunelveli District as a Chief Guest. Mr.Narendiran Nair gifted new dresses and sweet boxes to 41 children of prison inmates. Among the children most of them deprived both parental care due to domestic dispute related crime (father is in prison for killing their spouse) Mr.Narendiran Nair spoke among the children “How can the children be future of this country”. Education is the most important wealth that can be acquired during children. So children should make use of every possibilities to acquire knowledge. Wisdom is a perennial river.

Mr.S.Arumugam, Additional Superintendent of Prison gave felicitation address and conveyed thanks to all the supporters on behalf of Tamilnadu Prison Department. Mr.Anbazhagan Jailor, Warders, Electrician, Inmates who made all the arrangement for the event and its success.

Some children came to the dais and thanked for the pongal gift. All the children had a great chance to interact with their fathers in the prison.

At last but least we sincerely covey our gratitude to Dhaya Group for their great contribution to buy all the 41 new dresses. Dhaya Group consist of 12 IT Professionals who are most generous to support this cause. Our special thanks to Mr.M.Karthikeyan for his greatest effort.
